WHICH MPC? A QUESTION FROM MY FRIEND

quoted from my friend from school "IM very interested in upgrading to a better MPC. With everyones knowledge in here, which one would you prefer if i wanted one that has the ALL AROUND features? Like;

Chopping up samples, and saving them directly to a DISK or DRIVE from the MPC... does the 25k or 4k have that feature? I seen it has a USB plug in, so it can go directly into the computer, but what if i just wanted a collection of disk with the CERTAIN samples i have? I dont want to purchase any extra external zips, or CD drive..

And more to that. My friend (me) says i should most likely rock with the 4k, but then i got people telling me the MV-8800 is killing every MPC out. Can you guys help? I was thinking either the 2500 or the 4000.. or possibly going with the MV 8800... can i get any feed back on this?"

What tools and features are you needing out of this mpc? I chose the 4k because of it having the HD & CD writer when it first came out. And it being the first & only 24bit/96k hardware sampler was a no brainer for me as well.

Plus it being able to interface with your pc (via ak.sys) to manipulate & customize your samples, I was sold on it. It was the first mpc to incorporate what was in their rack samplers, into a workstation.

I try to equip myself with as many tools, be it hardware or software, so I won't feel hendered from what I'm trying to invision. These days I tend to lean more towards s/w because of everything being all in one box (as far as recording & editing is concerned). Then I'll use the 4k as a controller to trigger the s/w samples or anything else.
