MPC from US 2 use in EU ?

Hi peeps,

a lil' question for european users : if I buy a MPC in US, what kind of problems could happen ? Warranty ? Will I need a power supply adaptator ? Others stuffs I don't know ? ...

Depends which model you buy.
Older models eg. Mpc60, Mpc3000 will need a seperate transformer to run them in europe where 230v or similar is used.
Newer models like mpc1000, mpc2000, mpc2000XL, mpc2500 etc can run on any voltage between 100 and 240 volts and therefore need no transformer to run in either US or Europe.

As for warranty ,I know nothing.

I'll never buy expensive hardware on e-bay. I had a bad experience once trying to sell a laptop, and saw there's a lot of dumbass right there, and e-bay can't protect you enough.

it should work, the mpc1000 manual says it can run on dual voltages.

i would go with a 1000 tho, cheaper and with the jjos it is way better.

I bought a 500 something like 6 months ago. I love it, but 500 is like a scratchpad, perfect to take in travel, or at ... work (badboy !!!) and make your beat's fondations. But I need more at home.
1000 is a good compromise, and if you buy 1 machine, that's the choice. But I can't leave my lovely 500 (too cute), because 1000 is too big to really take with you anywhere, and the pads are too small for an home/studio use (to me).
But that's a great machine !

Why not buy it somewhere in Europe? Saves you all the hassle, much better warranty conditions, and considering the shipping it probably costs to ship it overseas, not really more expensive either. You'll probably have similar stores in France, in case not:

The bundle from thomann is less interesting qualitatively and financially. HHtools offer cost 1200 eur, and is really better. The actual exchange rates are really interesting for us in Europe.

Did you check already what they charge for shipping to Europe? I guess around $100 for a package of that weight.

And remember you have to pay the same again (maybe twice), if you have to send it back to claim your warranty. Which could probably happen with a 2500.

They don't ship in France ! But they've got testimonials from UK and Spain... Sounds like bullshit...

What you got to be careful about if you're buying your MPC from a US shop is that you're still going to have to pay taxes from the custom services (infamously known as "Douanes" here in France).

I've once shopped an Mpd16 from an american shop on ebay. It was fairly cheaper than buying it in France (it was like 100 euros back then). I received it quickly and then like 1 month later, i got a mail from the custom services asking me 30 euros. I think they evaluate the tax rate depending on the weight of the item.

In the other hand, you won't have this problem if you're getting it from a european store. But still with the current dollar/euro rate, it may still be more interesting to get it overseas...

I'll probably buy one in second-hand, then get all options on. Found one fully optionned at 1100e. 1000e for second-hand with at least 1 year warranty still running.
