I have recently been inspired by the likes of boon doc and jaisu, and I was wondering what type of equipment do I need to produce similar sounds?

I have a 2500 coming in soon, a turntable, speakers, and tons of records my dad collected. What else would I need to have a compact and convenient set up like jaisu? ( http://www.dailymotion.com/swf/x4cq94 )

Their equipment looks unfamiliar to me and I was wondering if someone could help me out.

Thanks for the reply though.

What would be a good mixer to purchase?

Jacpot, I appreciate you for taking the time to answer my dumb questions.

depends on your situation/setup. i would start out small, man. if you dont know anything about music equipment, i would go reasearch and study up on what does what. what exactly you need what gear for. we can tell you what good mixers are out there, but that wont mean anything if you dont know what its used for.

if you want to be a purist like jaisu it looks like all your going to need is

mpc
turntable
mixer (either dj mixer or studio mixer) dj mixer if you get a turntable thats good enough to scratch and you want to scratch.
as far as whats on his laptop sends ?? marks to me.

I think a mic is pretty clutch, get a good versatile mic and a mbox and youre good to go with the tables and mpc (and computer of course)
