MPD32|Turntable|Software?

so i want to get that MPD32...but which turntable?should i get a mixer also?i make beats with Reason 4.0 but reason cant record viynl right? so im going to need addtional software for this setup.

Oh yeah do you whats the best software besides Reason to master my beats after i make them cause theyre not sounding clean maybe its because im new to this but i heard Cubase is good.

But im thinking of getting a Mac so im thinking about Logic Pro

It's up to you which turntable you choose, but it depends on what you'll be using it for. If you want to scratch as well as use it for sampling, get something well-established like a Technics SL-1200 or a Vestax PDX turntable. Otherwise, if you're doing nothing but playing records on it, you could just spend next to nothing on a basic turntable and use what you have left for other equipment.

Mixers are pretty much the same as turntables - it depends what you'll be using it for. Scratching? Get either a Vestax 05, 06, or 07, or consider something really sick like a Rane TTM-56.....

Anything else, like mixing or just boosting your turntable signal, you could settle for something much cheaper. Go to any store where they sell this equipment together and ask for a demo. They all have different layouts, different features etc - just try several out and find out which works best for you.

Other than Reason, I've used Pro Tools to master beats. It takes some time to learn but it's worth it IMO. Cubase is ok, although I found it too complex. Different strokes for different folks I suppose. You can use Pro Tools to record vinyl directly into your PC and ship it to your MPD to play around with etc.

thanks for the reply really means alot....i was told that you need a mixer if wanted to record a turntable into your PC but i guess its what kind of turntable you get.

also...im just wanting to sample off the records and NOT do any scratching

You do need a mixer to boost the signal from your turntable to your PC, although I think there are some turntables which have a boosted signal anyway - like the crappy old Sony belt-drive from my parent's hi-fi I used to use when I couldn't afford a second turntable!
