new to mpc...any help using with midi keyboard and REASON?

so i got a midi keyboard, mpc 1000, and currently using reason on my pc..

i have been using my keyboard with reason with no problems...it connects using a usb...and only has a midi out jack..no midi in jack..

so do i use the midi out from the keyboard to the midi in to the mpc..and the usb from the keyboard to my pc...

on my keyboard i have it set up using midi thru..this is refered to as master and slave i believe?

so do i need to get an interface to use with my pc...cuz i thought i cud just use reason??

and in reason i cudnt get the prefrences page to recognize the mpc...

i also have a 3 channel mixer..any way that would help?? also after i get the mpc working..then workin with the keyboard..also want to learn how to use samply the vinyls recs..but will do that later

soooo...am i in the rite direction at all..and what am i doing wrong..do i just need the interface?

You need to explain better in details on what your trying to do.

Are you trying to slave or master Reason with the MPC?

Or are you trying to control Reason synths and sounds with the MPC via midi keyboard?
