MPC1000 is driving me crazy for real..

i just bought a mpc1000 off my sisters fiance.. its a older one(blue and red) version 1.06 i think he said... anyways ive been usin fl with a mpd for over a year now and i just wanted to upgrade to a mpc..blah blah i went to guitar center, and the only card they had was a JAMedia 256mb cf card.. now i know absolutely nothing of mpcs..zero experience..and i had no idea you had to format it?? thats pretty ignorant, but first timer. anyways i follow the manual on formatting and all goes well i guess, nothing blew up or caught on fire.. so i follow the instructions on the usb via comp...comp installs new usb mass storage.. but when i bring it up in My Computer, its says Removable disc E: ...i double click it and it says would i like to format the cf card?? i thought i already did that?? someone plz school me..

i saw that link when i was doin some googlin.. it still doesnt tell me why the card isnt being read by the comp... im about to just go back to fl.. can someone give me a rundown of what they did when they first got their 1000..

ok so just when i think i got it, i go to download the free JJos.. when its done downloading it says not enough disk space? how is that possible? new cf? i need some schoolin soon bc i got samples that need chopped up and now that i have this mpc, i dont wanna go back to fl studio.. thats like goin from a ferrari to cavalier..

Fl is great, did some of my best stuff with it.
If it wasnt for portability and live shows i would´ve never bought the mpc.
Oh and syncing it with Fl or Live to team up with others is nice too.


Regarding your troubles, i really dont know, somtehing seems to be broken here. Maybe try another cf card or try connecting to another pc. Hang in there, i´m sure it will work out eventually.
