I am trying to send system exclusive messages from my Roland XV-3080 module to my MPC 2000XL to save along with my sequence. What I want to do is have the MPC remember the settings in my module so that when I hit start on the MPC the correct patch #s, panning, efx, volume level, etc. will load up on the module.

This might be simple for some of you, but I can't figure it out. I read the manual and search the board, but i am still confused. can anyone please help!

Cant you just record it?
Sysex takes some time to be transmitted, would be better if you could set up a performance in the xv and just change to that with a program change.

Thanks for the reply, I am not sure I understand. I want the MPC to send the mesage to the XV-3080 when I hit start. Everytime I load up a sequence, I have to go into the xv and re-select the patch for each track, readjust the levels (pan, volume, & efx). I tried hitting record on the MPC and transmit the system exclusive message, but that only mess up the sequence.

Please someone help!

I will try that when I get home. Does a "program change" message also recall temp settings such as pan, volume, efx levels?

Thanks to all who are willing to take the time to help my confused a$$.

Adjust everything in the xv as you like, save the patch. P.C. is used to select the patch then. Check the manual for details.
