Hi i just bought my MPC 1000 today and was wondering where should I begin.
I know there is some type of update "jj" or something I should install. Its not clear to me where to
find these or which one I should download. Basically I was wondering if someone can help me get set up before
I start getting ready to make beats..is there any recommendations someones suggest, like updates, installations, downloads etc? My gear consist of m-audio contoller, a roland jv-1010 sound module, gemini turntable, and a mixer/preamp..thanks...

The first thing you should do is crack a brew!

Then you might wanna check out the MPC1000 forum topic here:
http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewforum.php?f=15
- Check out the stickies, very helpful for beginers.

Then you can also check out the JJ OS forum topic here:
http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewforum.php?f=25
- Again the stickies should contain information to help you decide if you need it or not.

Then just play around with it. See how far you can get before you need the manual. MPCs are fun. Enjoy!

until you've been using your mpc for a while, i'd stick to the traditional mpc performance enhancing drug - the sacred herb of zion, rather than the poison of babylon.

Yes, Boon is good. I have asked him a couple of questions about the MPC, but I'm disappointed that he hasn't answered. I sent him a boat load of questions and he answered those when I first got my MPC. Now it's no response...flat line....guess I'll keep figuring out things on my own.
