new hard drive for the mpc1000

I recently purchased a western digital 120g 2.5 harddrive for my mpc1000. I have had it operating for 3 weeks now, So far it's running good. Took about 12 to 15 hours to transfer 6Gs of samples from my pc to the mpc1000. I did the transfers while at work. formating dropped the drive down to about 110Gs. I'm currenty using jjos.01 operating system. The only problem Ive had was a few days ago wanted to create a folder and couldnt. The mpc100 would "lock up" Freeze. So I decided to backup all Samples and reformat the Harddrive This fixd the problem, But now I have to reload my samples. Will this resolve this issue. Stay tuned ..........? I hope So. reloading your samples is tricky.You must put them back exactly the same as they were, the mpc does'nt search for missing parts so I use a backup hard drive system that backups and reloads the same.
Of course that hard drive is and external 500 g drive, usb 2.0 via my p.c.
