I just acquired an older(assumption) model mpc1000, and I'm not sure if this thing works properly. I'm pretty sure the cursor buttons and the play button don't work. I'm not sure if the stereo or headphone jacks work because I can't play things back. And a few of the function buttons don't work.

Now I play hardcore/metal and alt rock, not what this is made for I'm sure, but can be useful. The main question I have is do you know a way to test it to see if it works and if it involves taking it apart do you have any instructions. And how do I set this up as a stand alone unit with just some speakers or something.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Daniel

manual first then ask specific questions later

you dont just walk into a car dealer ship on a whim and say "i wanna buy a car" def hit the books up first
there is plenty of ways to load up samples and check them etc.

there are technically three mpc 1000
blue and red (old old)
black w/ out new pads
black w/ new pads.

Well someone gave it to me and it is the blue and red one. I know for sure the buttons I mentioned before do not work, how do I pop this thing open and fix that, all the pads work just the buttons I mentioned before. I read the manual and reset it to factory because it said it had default samples and I tried to play them and nothing came through so if anyone knows the hardware of this thing in and out I would love your help. I have experience in soldering and things like that I just needed to how to open this up and get to these buttons without messing anything up.

thanks man I'll check it out

haha yea definitely and some other stuff like to use as a sampler and shit like that

i also want to use it to record drums because i can't find any drummers where I'm at so i'm just gonna record all the music and vocals and use this as a drum machine, it was free so i wanna use it because i'm a broke ass hxc kid

if anyone knows of some kick ass drum programs that don't require you to click beats and that i can record in real time with let me know

but none of that will happen til i fix it
