what do u guys use to chop samples and what ways do u chopp samples i need help in choppin in different ways.

All I do is record a sample from my table into Audacity, chop it into 12 pieces (usually) and then paste them all into a folder on the 500, assign'em and play them however I want...hope I gave ya some insight...

U guys need to get up off you azz and chop, no one can tell you "how" to chop, you figure it out by doing it and seeing what YOU yourself like to do. Just get into that sample and chop the start stop where YOU want.

I aint trying to be an a-hole but dang, everybody wanna know secrets but MOST of the time, it's on YOU and YOUR "will" to create/imagine. MOST of the stuff that peeps ask secrets on I've seen laltey is stuff that aint got no secret and it seems that peeps just want the exact way to do something and there is none. Just do it. Honestly in those cases that's the best advice anyone can give.

8th note chops, quarter note chops, note by note chop, 2 beat chops..theres many ways it just depends on what you want to do. do like nike.

I know what u mean i do jus jump into it but i feel like im not doin it right i understand theres no secret to it but i think time signatures has somethin to do wit it and i only know a few things about timing

As long as you keep practicing and progress you'll get better big dog. Chopping is just cutting start and stop points that's it. Not hard. You just gotta get several chops together, combine them how you like and do your thang. There's no right or wrong to that.

Thanks Bro i appreciate that the reason im having trouble chopping is becuase i have the 500 and it doesnt have chop shop ya digg i need programs to chop and there arent any in my budget

just chop by ear right on the 500, you should be able to hear the next sound coming in

I own the 500 and I chop by ear... Its not hard. Just learn your machine and put your soul into it.

Chop shop is a feature that aint necessary at all, it's just a luxury item imo.

That's right!!!! 4 me manual way is the better way and would be helpful if you pass from a new mpc like 2500 to an old classic like 3000,if you can't see the waveform you must use the ears!!!
