if its a new record it shouldnt make those crackle sounds,but yes you need to balance and check your needle of dust they have brushes for the stylus, itf the noise continues then replace your needle. they wear out over 2000hours of play
you can still use them but you'll get that sound.usually thats when i replace mine
you just have to keep ontop of the settings,i dj with my needles so i try to get a lot of use out of them.except when i play on the radio,then i try to use new needles i have a pair that are just for that.
i got a load of needes i use pencil mount and the regual screw mount cartridge
but no you should not hear that ALL the timetry to find another copy and compare the two
