I've never been but I've heard good things about the scene there. It seems to be pretty rich in music. There's this one documentary I saw that had some of LA's notable producers go out to diff stores (Daedalus, Ras G, J Rocc, DJ Nobody)..they weren't stores that actually specialized in selling records..they were your typical thrift stores. I was surprised with some of the jewels they found.
Point is, just get out as much as you can. Go to every store that you can..thrift stores, book stores (some sell vinyl), record stores, etc. Be the Columbus of shit and hit up everything you can!!
