are you kidding me i tried to organize my collection and gave up 1/3 of the way thru hahaha... and that was just upstairs... its good to start fresh you just have to take inventory because some times you can forget what you bought years ago.. IF YOU HAVE BEEN COLLECTING FOR THAT LONG...

If your stash primarily consists of stuff like Merle Haggard, Wham!, Barbra Streisand, Kenny Loggins, etc...
GET RID OF IT!!!

Otherwise, I think you may end up kicking yourself down the road if you dump on your current collection now - I don't know how far along you are. What would stop you from doing this same thing with your next one too?

Fill a crate (or crates) with your best records and listen to them. Try adding your new records to these crates from now on so you have a mini-collection within your old collection - and it's just the Kill.

I'd keep the other records too (I have tons of Kenny Loggins and Barbra Streisand records on the shelves  ). I'm always finding new stuff to sample on records that I thought were useless a few months ago. Plus, in a world where 85% of producers sample stuff that's already been over-used - we should probably toss some crazy sounds their way, right?

Well i agree but im not giong to say throw them out because some spots will trade you for them and if you happen to have a lot of junk then step your game up....Seriously we all have the Montovanni/Bert kampeforts/Jim nabors/etc... but usually they all have something you can grab off them.Remembering we dont just look for loops anymore and its all about sounds...Sometimes these records contain the same sounds we buy the big name modules for...I would give a listen to them again before i toss them im sure theres something you missed...

hey you may only get to play them once a year so you just have to make cds for the whole family and spread them around. dont fret I have some of those joints to LOL...My boy had break on this jack Jones record and guess how many Jack jones albums I went thru (still have) and dont have that break yet hahaha so stuff happens btw he gave me a Troggs lp so i could feel better... it worked!!!

I can totally relate to that... I have Wham!, Barbara Straisent, Julio Iglesias etc, AKA create fillers (Most of those kind of records were given to me) I am a total hoarder it comes to vinyls.

Its good to get rid of some weight, specially records that are wack no matter how many times you try to find a dope sample on them, if nothing comes to you on the third spin, put it up for charity for the next digger, maybe he has something else in mind.
