Decent day in the dollar bin

I went into the thrift store today, because I couldn't find my Paul Simon 50 Ways......amazingly I found it there in mint cond.
Also found a Crusaders record with a bunch of open drums on it, a Lee Michaels record that I didn't have yet (I dig his stuff), The Raes which is disco with tons of disco breaks, and The Sons of Champlin record with a great open break on it. It's days like today that keep me going back.

Yo,itchy i'm kind of curious...What's your genre of music?

I mean as in what you produce?

What's my genre? Tough question.
As a listener, I dig everything from Elvis Costello, to Curtis Mayfield, to Eric B & Rakim, to Slayer.
As a drummer, I've played rock, jazz, funk, folk-pop, you name it.
As a MPC user, I'm in a couple different projects that are a mix of soul, pop, hiphop, jazz, funk (both programming, and playing MPC live.)
And then, there's the stuff I do alone in my bedroom that I would describe as experimental hiphop. It's all instumental - sample based, and I do my own cuts.
When I dig, I'm mainly looking for drums. I don't care if the whole record is funky or not, because I don't DJ out anymore. And I don't really care if it's rare or not - as long as it's got some good drums. I'm not a "super-digger", just enough to feed the MPC.

Yeah,you answered my question.You just had me curious with all the funk and disco talk because i don't know alot of cats that check for disco.Alot of them go straight for jazz.I try to go for alot of older stuff from the 60'2 and 70's myself but i think it's time for me to compose more of my own stuff off the keyboard.

I miss my fat kid too. And as far as me sendin' malasada i wish,i live in VA. now but i'll probably visit HI next year.Pearl City.

i had to buy two different paul simon records to get that.. first one had way too many scratches, luckily i found another one in great condition soon after.

tight, my thrifft store down the street pretty much never restocks, so its hard
