How many of ya'll been to a record store called "As the Record Turns"? I went to the pasadena flea market(saw Madlib there) and talked to the ol boy kevin who owns it. Tellin me bout his thing called "the program" and how he got all these rare records and what not. Let me know how he is and if his store is dope.

Yeah he's got crazy records, but I dont know anybody whose ever gone on the program. It seems shady. BTW, as the record turns has some of the most OVERPRICED vinyl in the country.

As I recall, you pay a certain membership dues, then you can "rent" vinyl from either A1 or As the Record.... I dont remeber what the dues were, but it alwasy sounded like a negative option columbia house type thing to me. If you got a lot of cash and dont mind listening to the most boring man in the planet (Kevin) then go for it, but Ive heard its kind of a shady deal. Dude will talk to you for about 3 hours about absoultely nothing, give you his screenplay...

But aside from the program, dude was like, "i'll charge you $3000" and he was saying how hes talking to Kanye's people n shit, the records are overpriced? Better off gettin shit somewhere else?

He might have been talkin to them, very likely considering Kayne will spend Gs to get his. Your better off stickin to that Pasadena swap cause Ive found tons of ill sh** there over the years. What was dude gonna charge you 3gs for? Dont get it twisted, the man has ill rekkids, but you gotta put up with a lot of his weirdness and to get them.

He was tryna get me in his "program". I might go to his store to see what his prices are.

Whats the deal with that laminated brochure with him and all the producers, he got it tied to a hanger like a public bathorom key?? he actually had some decent records in his crates for around $10 a piece, but like said above i wouldnt mess with that program. in the end, youll never get an edge because everyone else has access to those same records.

yea kevin talks alot BUT the records in that closet are defff not normal finds at swap meets for SURE. He is a knowledgeable cat though, if you actually take control of the convo you can find out tons of info. As for the program, If you have the ends and it wont break your bank, of course do it shit, buy me into to it to. IF your budgeting then $1 bins are your best friend. WHERE else do you guys dig in L.A.? Is it the pasadena city college or where? is it better to go on saturdays or sundays?
