any input on that joint? is it me or my limited knowledge but d*m was that place crazy high priced?

what am i missin?

also i'ma confused... yall gave me a lot of heat cuz i didn't "share" that joint i had discovered for $0.25 vinyle? but then i rid this guy post...

drumtrack wrote:Many records have the names from the musicians:
keys: john X
bass: Sam Y
percussion: michael J
etc etc
When there is no vocalist, Ill buy it, no doubt
When the cover looks cool, Ill buy it
When there is a sax or trumpet on the cover, Ill buy it
When funk or jazz or soul is written on the cover somewhere, ill buy it
dont buy 80ies or 90ies pop
Ill buy everything that is made before the 70ies
Cop every jazz record... there are plenty of them!
Dont go to shops that are famous because of diggers, they charge too much. Instead go to flea markets. If you find a store, dont share it ;)
Diggin is also a matter of luck
You need to have patience and lots of spare time
Take lots of cash when you go diggin so you can buy everything you think is good. Dont be miserly. Spend!

Dont think too much... When it looks cool, buy it!

You can do some research on the net for artists and write them down on a piece of paper wich goes into your wallet, or remember them..

Buy a portable turntable wich runs on batteries: Fisherprice, Vestax, etc..
so are we to share or are we too not?

jus wonderin what the geneal consensus is...

peace and love

okay, newbie. let me school you on a couple of things:

A: YOU ARE A NEWBIE!!! if you realized what you did before (not sharing the spot with .25 cent records), you would have realized that you refused help. THE STORE WAS CLOSING!!! There fore, there was no way that you could've bought every record in the store...meaning you left tons of them to go to waste....and that pisses off us serious diggers to the highest of pisstivity...

drumtrack's post applied to a store that will be in business for a while, or a recurring flea market, or something to that effect. NOT SOMETHING THAT WILL COME AND GO!!!

if you would've read the posts in your rather unbelievable thread, you would've seen that I!!! wouldve helped on what to look for and things of that sort. if you dont know what to look for, or how to look for it...then you wouldnt have taken full advantage of the oppurtunity you had.

i mean...YOU BOUGHT CABLES INSTEAD OF .25 CENT RECORDS!!!!!!

B: To answer your question about jazz record mart, they are pretty expensive. nice people, but expensive. business has been slow lately, so they moved into the basement of that building because they coudnt afford the rent.

now...please take this post and read it carefully. im only trying to help you for the future.

from my very first post I SED i was a newbie, aka i sed and i quote. "i'm new to this records and sampling thang.."

i don't get why you call me OUT as a newbie like that? but aight? i mean further more son.... all my posts are askin "basic, DUMB "retarded" questions.. unless your a newbie like me..

but again aight...

also I feel YOUR pain on the i bought the cables. v/s instead of the $0.25 vinyle.. but i explained that to YOU already..

being a newbie.. what GOOD would have all the records IN THE WORLD done me, if i coulnd'n't listen MUCH less sample them?

it would not make sense... to buy something that i would not be able to use or utilize....

right or wrong?

being that you from chi n by yo pic YOU know how it is out here...

gotta make do wit what we got right?

times is lookin up tho son... watch you'll see

ay what you think of that virgin store on michigan ave?

dude threw me immortal tech vol 1 and vol 2 plus the OUTKASt atliens all on vinyle for 20 bones...

i aint even know they had vinyle there....

did YOU?

peace n knowledge...

im not tryin to call u out, fam. now that we understand each other, we can build...

my only question is this: why would you buy something that is easily available (ie cables), over sumthin that comes up only once every blue moon (ie 0.25 cent wax)??????

just curious

and btw, virgin=expensive store. nice spot, yes...but expensive. i would only go there if im lookin for some new hip hop wax, nothin more. for every thing else dj-like, i go to the aptly dubbed Wax Addict right off diversey and ashland...around the corner from dusty groove.

aight son its cool i know u wasn't tryin to diss or nada, we cool..

also to answer yo question..i mean its like this..its hard for YOU to understand cuz you a "experienced" digger.. but here goes... i was BRAND spankin new, n STILL em...but when i made that post all i had was my new sampler...n NOTHING else.. aka no cables... and those 2-3 records.. so instead of blowin that $20 on them $0.25 records, which you would have done im' sure. i opted for something i needed, aka the cables.. buyin more records AT that time would mean they WOULD jus sit there until i was able to buy the cables n "use" them aka sample em.. in MY view buyin more records n NOT being able to do NOTHING wit them would be stupid.. w/o the cables i wouldn't even be able to play em on my turntable... feel me now guy?

also REMEMBER i'ma newbie.. so me findin a shop that sold records for $0.25 wasn't all that..aka i didn't realize the "great" find i had discovered... actually it still ain't... keep that 3rd eye out for my posts.. you'll see what i mean....

yo like i sed things is LOOKIN up...u know how it is out here.. but uh i stay at by west chicago... 26'th an ashland

what YOU got for me out there killa?

holla back

how bout them WILd wild 100'z..
