How about J Dilla??? One of, if not the master of MPC and sampling

By qst4 Sun Apr 30, 2006 8:32 pm
This is crazy! I really expected Dilla to have a lot more props on here, mayby I joined the wrong forum. I can't see anyone else without first seeing Dilla! RIP.

oh yeah and idralt, ever heard of "Untinted" (madlib sample sources)

By idralt Thu May 04, 2006 3:40 am
isn't untinted just the original sources to the blue note album he put out...that doesn't really count, at least not in my opinion...and I'm still sticking with Madlib, he's got records for days, and its not just that shit where its like a hard to find soul record that just looks like it'd have a dope break on it, i mean he's got some weird ass obscure records...if some of the other producers that belong up there, like pete rock for example, have any of these records, than they still wouldn't be able to flip them...that why I stand with madlib...(if i were to change my top pick, i would change it to jaylib, that way i could cover madlib and dilla in one pick...if you aren't feeling donuts than you aren't feeling hip-hop at its finest)

Ayatollah and Kno

Ayatollah: master at finding the few good pieces of a track and mix them together to a new song
Kno: he has a kind of feel (sort of classical sound) to his samples that you cant find anywhere else

dj e.d.e wrote:RUN from RUN DMC was KB dj i never heard that, may be he started getting to bussy to Dj for him because of his own music,

the son of KB=Dj Run, that's the name he went by when he ran with Kurtis.

No votes for the mighty BombSquad....?
