Fast paced funk- How do yall flip it?

I recently got a comp of some old soul records and they are really good. the sound quality is real good for mp3 and they arent artists that i know of. The only problem is that they are extremely fast!! up in that 150 bpm. think of some motown records for references. i know i can speed it up so i can make a beat at about 80 bpm but i still have tempo issues. How do yall flip it?

Also if you have any beats, could you post them, in the right section of course, for an example.

my last few beats have been in the 112- 118 bpm range. the 118 one is probably just gonna be an instrumental. If i'm flying above that range, which i've only done a few times, it's usually just going to be an instrumental. In those situations i'll just grab a loop of, say, the hi hats and build around it. I've been toying with the idea of doing a solo album, mainly instrumental, with the theme being hip hop style beats but done in a fashion that wouldn't really cater to rapping.....i.e. a faster tempo. Fortunatly i've been producing beats at a rapid rate the last few weeks, too many for my crew to keep up with. when this happens i'll usually do some shyt thats just for me, faster, something that can stand on it's own as an instrumental.

high bpm funk huh?
