james brown's drums, and horns (but mostly his drums - i think THE FUNKY DRUMMER is the most overused sample EVER) - have been oversampled the most...

he hasn't seen a cent, i don't think - 'least that's how the legend goes....

also, blowfly... he's been ganked and ganked again... big history there, as far as hiphop/dirty style is concerned...

excuse me if these have already been addressed - i didn't read every post - just shot my .02

he does i'm sure , i just remeber hearing jazzy ,but as i'm not in NY i'm sure there's people back frok that time i never heard of that had mad skillz on production.
