My boy hooked me up with a CD of drum loops from vinyl sources, sounds alot doper than the other collections I've heard, the hi-hats especially. That "air" adds a helluvalot to a beat.

I've gotten better results just sampling notes off a real bass, then EQ'in/filtering those notes. The few sample cd's I've ever bought had nothing but the same 10-15 drums off of well known records I've owned for mad years, really corny synth/piano/rhodes/wurlitzer sounds that just don't sound right when I try to pitch em into the correct key, and basses that are flat, lifeless, and dead from the beginning. Personally, sample cd's are a waste of time and money.
