Bay Area Music

Yo does anyone know where I can get some info about old Bay Area music? Specifically soul and funk but anything will do. I've searched on every music site I know like allmusicguide.com, artistdirect.com, and I even searched Wikipedia all for some specific names but I can't find any information about the artists/groups. Like the albums they made and related info. Guess I will really have to dig harder...

Thanks. Yeah I know all those artists. Pretty major. I'm looking for some people that weren't that big. Bay Area Funk's a good comp. that's more along the lines of what I'm lookin for. Anyone know where I can get more info on similar artists? Like more of their releases? I've found a few things already.

damn i cant recall right i'm on vacation mode

but i tell you what alot of those records are bank , and alot of the old funk from the bay area is very very expensive. it is considered northern soul. try to search under northern soul music from the bay area.

i have costumers that are looking for that type of music too, but it cost way to much , and mostly on 45's.
