but that sh!t has drums on it too? what do you do? throw it away as unusable or use it anyway then layer over their drums and such.

i know cypress hill did this with that song hits from the bong. but that sounds so easy... what is your take on this?

theres a hot guitar lick but that ish has some drums, and now you cant build your own on top of it!

people are mad, especially the "turn it into a skit" lol..

U chop around the drums.. u chop like u usually would, then just make sure any chop with a kick underneath goes where ur kicks hit, any chop with a snare underneath goes over ur snares... and any between chops can go between where theres hi hats or no drums etc etc etc...

PLENTLY of beats are chopped around the drums, not just open melody chops.. with that mind state peeps would miss so much its crazy and over look so many dope samples.

Yeah i find mad dope stuff, but it got thick drums in it---lite drums are straight cuz you filter a lil and drop the volume and turn up the drums, and Bam.... But when the drums are noticeable on either channel, i dont know what to do.....I usually write it down, and come back to it, once i hear a beat that uses a loop w/ thick drums in it. Like Big's "Warning"(prod by Easy Mo Bee) I flipped Walk on By and actually remade Warning when i first started gettin better at making beats when i first started out a year ago. When it goes back into the verse after the 1st hook, the drums drop out, but you can hear the original drums in it..... Ghostfaces "260" (prod by RZA) is just a straight loop everything you hear is tthe way it came off the vinyl, except for the 808 kicks, that Rakeem layed under the Original Kicks..... Every sample is gonna be approached a lil different...

Just put new harder drums over the top. Unless it's got some big ass When the Levee Breaks type drums, which might be muzukashi.
Straight loop it, rather than chopping, and put new drums over the top louder, and on point. Millions of tracks do this. Most samples from soul/funk has some drums underneath.

if it sounds easy then why ya asking?

i'd just chop it or loop it and add something different to the mix.

theres a feature in the XL that can dilence sounds use it it works great i have used that to remove drum sounds before.... it works good enuff to filter the rest of the sample.

i dont like to particularly to use other drums over a sample that has drums on it , but i have added drums over a sample that i had to broaden the sound to the kick drum.

just use the step edit
