what are you lookin for ?

just wanted to know what you guys be looking for when you be diggin' them wholes =) !

is it a certain genre (jazz,soul, soundtracks ....) or do you take everything no matter what genre ?

and what do you think is better to pick up an album of a certain artist , a best of of an artist or a collection of many artists mixed up?

i dont really know i usually look for certain artists and their albums but to come think of it by picking up a collection of many artists there is a bigger chance to find somthin interessting ..

I look in these genres when I'm at the stores:

Rock, Jazz, Soul/Funk/RnB, Hip Hop and sometimes Blues and Soundtracks

If I find a record I want, I buy it. I'd prefer to have regular albums by an artist instead of their greatest hits but it depends on the artist. Sometimes all you can find is their greatest hits.

I don't really like compilations most of the time.

It all depends

I can't tell you what genre to dig. Its all about taste. Dig for something you like. Just because everyone is digging up e.g. old Motown stuff doesn't mean you do!

Greatest hits joints might be good might be bad. I can find greatest hits sometimes can be wack as you only have the more well known songs on them and they miss out my favorites.

Its best to do your research. Read the sleeve notes for musicians, instruments, etc. One of the musicians may have made an album themselves that you might wanna check out.

i look for great music or just good music,
i am a dj first off so i look for something that i can mix into my sets,
i play either or albums or singles and yes i buy best of's cause thers all the music thaat i would play but i also i pick up the regular albums and i love comps cause theres soo much music on them that you wont find and if you find them you wont find them in the condition where its playable so why not buy a comp.

im looking for what I categorize as good music. which can be anything

i almost never look thru country but i might start if i get bored...

I got some dope double bass and finger clicks break from a country record once, i chopped it into 2 hit sections each startin on the finger clicks, pitched it and fit it perfectly with one of my beats, was real proud of it..

As for what are we lookin for, at the moment i left the records alone and im lookin for a job
