I went to Waxtracks, it was pretty fun... the dude is a total record guy, and he gets pissed off with youngins not listening to his ground rules first and stuff like that... it's in the yellow pages, it was a short cab ride from the strip...

anyways, dude knew his stuff, so there weren't any real bargains, but he had a lot a lot a whole lot of super good stuff... if you're looking for That One Record, that may be the place. Good record store for sure. Pricey, but very good.

and then there's a good one on the south end of the strip (I think it's the south end...who has any idea of what's going on when they're in Vegas?...the end with the Stratosphere...) when you're heading down the strip, take a right at the Nascar rollercoaster that's whizzing around, and go a block, it's on your left... they had records...

I spent a couple hundred bucks on records last time i was in vegas, probably 70 too much, but it was the first time I actually came back from Vegas with something I wanted (I did not want gonnorhea or a court date LOL)

good luck

and be sure to post any crotchety old sayings the waxtracks guy says, he's a "character" (nice way of saying something else hahahah)

My suggestion is to rent car for cheap. You will be able to go anywhere you want. Our cab prices are more than average.

Then instead of going to a spot that specializes in records (meaning high prices), I would recommend hitting as many thrift stores that you can manage in a day.

Each record will cost you $1 each. This will help even out the cost of the car.

This is hit or miss though so be prepared to DIG.

I bought my share this week so there is plenty of stuff out there.

Good luck.

Hit me up if you are going to the strip club... ;)

There is a thrift store chain that I go to weekly called Savers. I got a couple of sample records yesterday.

I was gonna suggest HipHopSite.com which was a bomb hip hop record store like Fat Beats but it seems that they went digital...

http://hiphopsite.com/contact

Also check out Zia Record Exchange on Eastern...mostly CD's but they have an okay vinyl section, but this is the shop that I started going to after the WOW Tower superstore closed down (for new releases and backstock singles).
