***WARNING LOOOONG READ**** But if you have went on my journies in the past you will want to read along....This is actually tied in with my last vinyl mission...

And awwwway we go....

Well I doubt you guys remember some may, but little ways back I made a thread about a score I came across on craigslist for some free records...Well he listed them as free, so quick like I went and scooped them up couple hundred records and sure enough guy didnt want a dime he was just happy to see them gone...well I thanked him and tossed em a 20 spot just for being cool about it...I also left him with my card (just has my number and says I buy records) any how couple months go by...

This guy hits me up out of the blue and says "Hey you want some more records"? I didnt even remember who he was, but first thing he mentioned was I gave you some FREE records few months back and you tossed me a few dollars well I have something special for you...

So I'm like wtf? interested now and intrigued as hell I'm like well your local I'll just swing by if thats ok....He said sure and I'll explain when you get here...

So I get there and he tells me about this huge community garage sale they had with like 12 families or some crazy ish...any how I guess about 4 or 5 of the families all had some record collections they wanted to try and sell...Well I guess he being friends with them all, he asked if they would mind just donating the records to him...And believe it or not they all gave them to him, and the only reason he wanted them was to give them to me lmao wtf???

So he brings me to his back room I'm like oh great this guys gonna try and rape me or some ish hahah but nah....He shows me crates of records I'd say about 400+ some looking new, some still in plastic wrap etc I mean some gems with out a doubt it was all the records from the families....I was shaking just looking....

He then says back up your truck lets load em in...I'm like huh? what? woooord! So him and his wife help me load them in and I was like well what do I owe you? He said no nothing they are free enjoy them or make some good money off them or something....

So Im shocked and tried to throw the guy a 50 and he refused to accept it yet he took my $20 last time...

Im tripping right now and can't even grasp why he would do all this and go through the trouble for some one he really doesnt even know....And the fact that months have went by makes it even stranger. like whats his motive? no money, nothing he had none.....I dont know it hasnt even sunk in yet...all I know is Im sitting on a goldmine and will be stuck to the turntable for a minute....

wow I dont even know what else to say, but I had to put my crate diggaz on to the story even if only one of you gets a chance to actually read it through....so yea like I said...

right on ....yeah thats cool i have had people like that,
you know sometimes it's just a good deed is all older people care more then younger ones. theres still nice people on this earth not all are bad.

how old were they ..the people how old are they?

i had a lady once give me about 5 boxes of records only got about 5-6 good records just sold off 3 boxes for 10 bucks about 2 month ago.

vizionary & t bias - lol.. thanks and I was thinking the same thing @ t bias...but honestly I'd be more then willing to help the guy out if he needed it...sh!t keep throwin wax my way and I'll be your damn personal assistant lol....but then I was like if that was his intentions he would have most likely asked about a favor from the last batch and never did....so strange and I am still dumbfounded to be honest....

e.d.e - Yea I agree with you, it's just so hard for me to grasp that there are still good genuine people out there...Im a Florida boy, born and raised...and honestly in my lifetime there has been MAYBE a handfull of people that I have came across that were not in it for themselves in some which away....I really want to think he's just a good guy, it's just hard when I know a good person with honest intentions seem to be a thing of the past....

As far as the records actually the first batch I got from him was some what like the lady you mentioned...alot were in ruff condition and although I found some goodies they were limited...BUUUUT this batch is NOT the same...I can almost tell the collections did come from seperate families because of how they are...like the way the genres and conditions were....

Some were new still in the wrap or in great condition etc then some were in ruffer condition and how the genre's like 2 crates were strictly spanish I'd guess was spanish family, then there was some mixed genre crates....aswell as some that were all jazz/r &b/soul/funk so you can kind of see how they all came from seperate collections....

and the ages like I said all older stuff I'd say nothing past early 80's if that...mostly all older and the actual couple I'm talking about I'd say the wife was probably about 40 and I'd say the guy is somewhere in his 50's thats just a guess....


lmfao @ GRIME - all GREAT possibilities, all ones I thought of other then number 4 hahah....hopefully thats not the case, but then again if he keeps me iced out with Vinyl...I'd let em tap...(no homo)...

Maybe I should give him a call just to let him know if things go sour in his marriage I'm on deck....chuch! lol
