Ive paid crazy prices for vinyl that I rarely see and want. I see two sides. If your a collector, which i am, but i also want records i can sample for cheap and then return or sale. Of course your gonna take a hit if your not willing to hang on to it until you find someone who wants it or needs it. When your a collector then your looking for original pressings with original sleeve and cover art. These things can cost dollo. I bought/sold a Pink Floyd ablum a while back for alot more than i paid for it to collector in Ky and I paid alot for it here in Ca. Dude had been looking for along time for one in this condition and well time is money so dude paid the price. I spent a long time looking as well. He wasn't gonna scratch on it even sample it. Dude prolly wasn't even gonna play it, or he'd bout the cd for 9.99 from where ever. Sounds crazy to some people but what is your primary purpose or use for it, you gonna spin it until its off the bill boards and sale it or you gonna hang on to it and hope its a classic. Also, these cats running records stores dont make jack compared to their time and energy that they expend into this trade. Support your small local independent shops, show love and respect, honor the librarians of this art form that we love. These cats are the reason we have cheap records, hard to find records, records with style and character, sounds before you birth not just top 40 bullsh*t. Their the reason why we have a lot of the music knowledge that we share and take for granted. Support em, peace
