Vinyl Records???

I'd like to know what product do you use to remove glue residue from vinyl records? This dj gave me some records, but he put so many stickers where his samples are located. I've tried peeling off those stickers, but since they've been there so many years, there is some glue residue left? anyone know what product to use without damaging the record? is "Goo Gone" a good product or will it damage the record? if you ever had this happen to you, let me know what are my options, I really to salvage those records. it will not damage your record.


your record is already damaged, from a sticker being placed on the grooves.

check the sticky post on the top of this forum theres a vinyl care thread that will give you great tips.

theres folks that use LF but i don't like to. i use alcohol and water and some light degergent with cold water.

See maybe if people listened to the same record over and over and over again, maybe they wouldn't need to put stickers on them....

any chance of a moderator trimming out the excess fat in that thread

and yeah lighter fluid works well on removing residue from the sleeve of your records, i've seen it first hand

but it also depends on what kind of stickers that stores use

some use really good stickers that leave little to no residue and others choose to use cheap and crap ass stickers that leave a whole lot of residue
