Dog...... why are you so worried about what everybody else did before you ? Or what other people are telling themselves when they find a record ? I know you said you had like 400 records but after you really put some time in , you come to realize whats rare and whats common . If your new to digging and you make beats , the last thing on your mind should be who used what , you should be learning your craft , sampling anything that sounds dope , so your advice is no good for a new digger . It just seems real sideways the way you are coming saying "I know you can still flip it , but don't fool yourself thinking youre the only one who used it " no, let that man fool himself and findout alot of people have that record , he'll either step his digging game up , or he'll give up like you .

+1. When I first started digging I thought I was buying cool stuff and realized all my beats sucked and the samples were all super common and everyone and their mom had used it. After awhile I stepped my game up and then again, etc. That is def how it is. My friends just started digging and they pull stuff and I just laugh because I remember picking up a Bill Cosby record thinking it was insane.

check this youtube vid supreme with a dope beat and he mentions what ive understood that no matter how much u think ur digging and finding something new at this stage in the game every record has been used.

so all this focus on findin new record i feel is misplaced but certainly if u enjoy diggin and collecting records i would not disuade u from doing it.
but i feel its more about how u flip it and how u put the track together plus even if u use the same record as someone else u can cath a different part of the sample and flip it different.

I find new samples everyday! It will never stop,the source is so big.

I don't think preme meant "every record" I think he was speaking loosly. Regardless... records have a lot of joints on them for anyone to say that every piece of even one record has been sampled... but like the general concensus is... it's not about what the jones' doing... do your thing and make it dope... it's not what you got, but how you use it. big ups to all the cats on here keeping this hip hop ish alive...
