Anyone know a good place to get about 12 tracks pressed to my own Lp? How do I do it from WAV files? I'm hoping to get around 500 done in the next few months. Any help would be appriciated.

There's a place right in Ohio that's been around forever :

Most places will master whatever you send them, as they have "mastering engineers' but it only sounds as good as what you send them and t

Depending on what style of music you are getting pressed, you may want to pay a recording engineer that specializes in that field to master it for you -- they will understand the nuances of the genre. You definitely want to speak with an engineer before you cut any vinyl.

Great! Thanks a lot man! My only concern is that everything I do is either on the Mp or my Fantom X. Both of which are stored as WAV files, so the mixing will already be done. Are they even able to master WAV files?

EDIT: I checked that link, and I can't get it to come up. Could you check to make sure it still works, or just tell me the name of the place so I can look it up. Thanks a lot.

I'm looking to press my stuff to vinyl too. Maybe on 7'' or 10''. But the plants I've visited wanted Copyright papers and licenses for sample clearance. I told them I just want a 100 copies for personal use but they wouldn't press without the forms.

Anyone knows a plant that presses with no questions asked? I want them to be like a calling card.

email these guys in detroit: [email protected] and tell them you're looking to get some stuff pressed. if sound enterprises/national sound corporation in detroit is still going they'll put you onto them or sort you out with someone else. there will be no issues or questions about samples.

getting 12 inches pressed is expensive, if it's too much, 7 inches can be done petty cheap.

you want to get your tunes mastered before they're pressed up. choose someone who makes the style of music you like, and importantly masters for vinyl, not cd.

That's what i thought. It looks like just a standard waver of responsibility on there end. Just sign it saying they are not responsible.

^^^friends tried that with a place out in the rockys that was pressing up a lot of small runs, about ten years ago. they spotted his samples and refused to do the work. but worth a go.

good on you wudsiba for pressing your tracks on vinyl.

Don't think so, I'll look in to it for you. All I know is I had a few jungle records from 92-93 that were starting to feel the wear and tear of use. I brought them in and they dubbed it all, no questions, all on white labels. I won't mention the name here for obvious reasons. Some of my friends have pressed sample rich shiz with them, and they didn't blink an eye. They even mastered it before hand and there were some easily identifiable samples on it.

100 pressings: $600. Freakin steal in my books.
