Shogun

Hi guys,

I'm a very recent recruit to the 'I cant help digging in bargin bins for records' club, my girlfriends mightily pissed off with the extra records cluttering up the place but hey, f**k her...

Anyway I havn't been diggin long (infact I only started 2 weeks ago!) i saw a T.v/film OST from 1980 called JAMES CLAVELL'S 'Shogun' and it say's on the back the music is by the same guy who did 'DR Zhivago' (which had some decent samples on it)

However it wasnt in the bargin bin and was priced £7 (which i think is about $5)

Anyone here know what record I'm talking about? is it worth the money samplewise or is it a load of c**p? The cover looks pretty cool as well but we all know that dont neccassarily make a dope record!

If you're seriously into digging, you should consider gettin a portable turntable. That way you can listen to the record before you buy, even if the shop doesn't have a turntable.
You can sometimes pick up cheap portables at fleamarkets.

something called Shogun with a dope cover id buy it for 5 even if i couldnt listen... might find something on it, is 5 dollars worth your wondering if your missing out? yes

dr. zhivago hahaha...is that album even worth 50 cents? 5 bones is steep for someone whos work included the bargain bin classic zhivago

i got 3 copies of doc zhivago. I got them all from 3 diff collections. They seem to be a dime a dozen but there wsa some good vocal samples in there.

looks like im missing out ..dam, every record shop i ever went into had at least one dr. zhivago sdtrk for 50 cents, ill cop one next time im out..id still be weary about dropping $5 on it, you can get an ill jazz album for that

HAHA - HTRF is the most expensive record shop I've EVER been into - you cant cop anything for under £7 no matter what it is - they seel some some decent equipment there though nice one iesm!
