don't listen to him.

it happens just listen to the hole record you have bought in the last few weeks , there's something in there you missed , listen to other genre's of music keep your mind off what your trying to sample don't think about hip hop music listen to classical , jazz, opera, listen to there
instrumentation's . don't worry you haven't lost it your just expanding your mind to the next level, open your mind to new music that's what this is , a time period to expand your mind, take advantage and listen to something new. broaden your horizons.

Same with me. Last time i went to the record shop i came back with what i thought was an Edith Piaf record, but was actualy a tribute with her no were to be seen. I was dissapointed to say the least. I got a good Isaac Hayes+Dionne Warwick though :D

Good choice MFosterUk
Till not a long ago I was trying to find samples from old funk records and found myself into stonesthrow's situation.
French music from the 50's/60's has incredibly creative instrumental samples!
Check out Boris Vian's, Nino Ferrer or Jacques Brel's music too, it is old & dope to sample.
Good luck

Jimi LaLumia's Record Connection is where you wanna go on LI. From NYC, you can take the LIRR to Ronkonkoma and it's two miles down Hawkins Ave. If you're down for diggin' drinkin cheap 40's from the gas station, smackin down them Ronkompton hoes at the lake, checkin the dopest glass pieces at East West, I'll show you whats good! Make sure you bring ID and you're straight. Otherwise, just hit the crates and have fun diggin'. 8)
