i love that shyt. as someone who samples its like solving some sort of riddle. I just got back from diggin and i throw on this Eric Gale record "Ginseng Woman" and skip around to the 3rd or 4th track. BAMMMM, the intro is the sample Blockhead used on Aesop Rocks "Daylight". Not the first time this has happened to me, but a good feeling none the less. Sorry, just had to share.

I'm feeling you...I just love digging through records, picking out one thinking "hey that looks promising, have a listen", and then finding the sample from a new Kenn Starr joint on one track AND the one used on Gang Starr's "You know my Steez" in another on that record...just by accident

yeah, i hear you on that as well. I found this Aretha record, produced and arranged by Curtis Mayfield.......forget the title.........anyway, i knew it was too cool not to have been sampled before, but i gave it a listen anyway. Sure enough, the sample for "Get By" from Kweli, prod. by kanyeezy.

Thats why i don't really fukk with anything remotly famous or popular, such as mainstream soul, etc.

Yeah same here. I love soul, don't get me wrong, but as far as sampling it, I'm finished. Way too many cats on the soul steez. Well obviously if I find grab some soul wax and there's a dope groove that nobody's used, I'm recording it lol. But, I'm not too into that anymore.

Right now, it's allll about funky jazz and psych/acid/hippie/whatever you want to call it rock. I don't like to limit myself, but I'm way into that kind of stuff recently.
