diggin at good wills?

yo funk that... goodwill is the spot man! 2 for 1's dollabins all day
the good will in my area is untapped for sure! i cop at least 20 a month of good raw treats!
i never try to pay over a 2 bucks for a record either estate sales or lots! on occasin i will if im out of country or just road trippin to a random spot and pick up wax... but if its 15 or higher please im all about that "goodwill hunting" how about them apples
skull snaps, bob james, mccan, gadd, all that 30-100 dollar stuff in the dollabins homie!!! yo get in cool with the workers and dig in the back... where they put all the stuff they dont have any room for on the floor!

picked up 1300 (and some odd number for free!!!!) peep out the papers sometimes folks giving it away if you can take it away, yah dig... sometimes more like shovel or funk it! get the bobcat! excavate the cheapness of it man! find a rare album samples it then ebay that piece and recycle the doe back to your diggin money!

never found no funk in a good will,just bach,mozart,the bible on vinyl,country and a nasty smell.records $2 and so are the pants and whatnot!

try estate sales. I copped 100's of records that i will use or not use for about $20-40.00.

I like hitting flea markets, salvation army, and local cat that has a nice shop a city away from me.

man my luck at goodwill in spring hill florida and smyrna ga. has been excellent. i know usually people dont give up they spots , but i been doing this soooooooo long , it dont matter much to me .. atleast not goodwill ...

Here is knowledge that took me years to learn about Salvation Army/Goodwill digging:

-Get to know who ever is in charge of records. I guarantee you some old crusty dude has already done this. He will have volunteered to trade the old floor stock out to bring in the new floor stock. In so doing he gets first crack at all the vinyl that has been donated.

-If you can't get to know the store personnel, figure out what day the stock changes (do this by going often), or what day they add records, get there on that day when the store opens and you can fight with the crust mongers over Beatles commons, that the crusters of course believe to be grails.

- At the very least hit them up with the frequency, in the end it all comes down to timing.

There usually is a lot of good vinyl that comes in and out of the chain thrifts, problem is that there is someone there ready to buy it up as soon as it hits the shelf.

I hit up my local Goodwill store like every 2-3 weeks. I've come up on George Benson, Ronnie Laws, Luther Vandross and some Redd Foxx stand ups. Pretty cool stuff. Flea markets around here rarely have anything worth buying.

I get mine wherever they are cheap. Most of the higher priced stuff has already been sampled. Goodwill ain't the best place, but I gotta check every now and then just in case.

hahahaha u aint lying. last time i went to a goodwill in los angeles everything seemed overpriced. and the records alone were like 2.50...im looking around at all their other stuff outta curiosity and its ridiculous. they get the sh*t for free and they charge more than finding the same stuff on craigslist or something. they aint helping anybody. "goodwill" my ass hahahaha.

i do check their records from time to time since there's one close by to my house though.

I've found a couple of corkers at the Oxfam music place where I live; they do charge too f**king much for some stuff, though. I mean, £3 for a beat up ol' 33 just ain't worth it IMO. They price up into the double-figure band, too; £10 - £15 for something they got for free!

I know it's for charity, but puh-lease!

eBay is my friend at the moment, although you do get stung on postage - s**t works can average out at about £6 a plate if you're not wise to it.

Thankfully, my mother's partner's brother is in-charge of some estate clearance company, and has access to miles of vinyl. I'll be tapping him up sooner rather than later!

ha!! ive found some diana ross in like good condition, some natalie cole. ive enjoyed flipping up some barbara streisand. and random cool stuff

but im thinkin of selling my records since i dont sample anymore.
