I'm not at all

I generally follow a multitude of producers from different genres.

It depends on how time strapped I am, or what the sample is for.

If I've got an entire day to dig I'll park my azz in a store and just grab stacks and start listening. Other times I know exactly what sounds/instruments/moods I'm looking for and can be in and out of a shop in 5min.

When I first started to dig it was all about exploring the different musical genres and just educating myself. It's true, after a while you know what to look for BUT it is still the best of fun just digging for the sake of getting dirty and finding new stuff. To me THAT is what digging is about.

Shiz, I even have friends and family members keeping 6 on new record spots for me. My 62 year old Mom has become a gold mine in that respect. Lots of her friends have/had vinyl and just don't see a use for it anymore. ChaChing.

Bingo.... That's how I've aquired 90% of my records.

ive been at this over 30yrs, so i know what i'm looking for, but i also dig at random theres to much good music out there to pass up,basicly i dig for my set's since i dj i have to get something that i can throw in to the mix,i dont realy dig for samples ,but i love breaks and samples too,thats usually what i sample from, i have sections in my collection house techno rap frestyle jazz modern rock classic so on...,the main thing is to know is the artist or musicians and how they cross reffence to other bands. i dont dig fofr years or labels cause that limits your music to only one kind, i love all kinds of music,
opreha,classical,and SOME counrty, the way i see it ,if your going to make music you have to love all music.


funny thing,a few yrs ago i got on a forum with abunch of dj's and they talked shit about im a mobile dj cause i play all kinds of music, but how can you be a dj if you onlu play one type of music thats not a dj i d said,IVE played clubs raves radio weddings company partys they came down on me hard,i just laughed it off, now i see dj's playing all kinds of music other then what they like to play.do to serato they are forced to play other music then what they like, it just gives more flavor.thats jus my opinion.
dont limit your self to one style of music is all i'm saying theres to much out there

But usualy I dig through the store/flew market.

And I pick only records cheaper than 6 euros.

I go random as hell... usually I go into my spots and just go through the dollar bins and look for names i dont know... cause im pretty knowledgeable when it comes to well-known music, so seeing names im not familiar with usually leads to a few unheard of cuts ya know...

You gotta have different methods . When I'm in the thrift stores I buy anything that looks interesting . I mint up my vg / vg+ copies . When I'm in the record stores I can't just buy any and everything so , I'm more focused on finding the dope .
