i think using popular stuff and trying to make it your own is something you should try because it forces you to do something new to make the song sound like you...and if country music has something dope in it, do the damn thing...

Word, i make a point to grab random records out of the crate that i think i've used up once in a while. 9 times outta 10 i find the freshest loop on the whole damn thing on the third or fourth pass.

I don't think there's anything that you should stay away from. I mean, me personally, i have my sound.... just like all of you. So there's certain records that i won't buy, but there's some HipHop artist out there who will take 'em...... if you get that, i don't really know how to word it.
