I think it's ok to loop a break if no one has ever heard it before...

I think it is also ok to just loop a break that everyone knows if it has some relevence to the track you are making.

Think of it like DJ-ing. There are times when you might need to drop a tune like "Apache", Trouble Funk's "Pump Me Up" or Chic "Good Times" & the familiarity of those tracks will probably mean they get a better response than the obscure texan funk 45 you paid $80 for.

Using a recognisable break can give a context to the track just as using a particular vintage instrument or drum machine sound. Think of it another way. You might want a piano in your track. Using a grand piano sound with the reverb of a big concert hall will give your track a very different context to using a beaten-up wild west saloon bar upright piano.
