Why pay for records?

mp3 is digital

vinyl is analog

Exactly, think about it if its on MP3 and on the net its obviosly not RARE. And thats the whole point of diggin you always tryin to find that shit you never heard before... Know what im sayin.

producers used to all be djs....unfortunately this is no longer the case, so we see proliferation of "other media" in sampling

I'm not casting judgement, just stating the facts...

MP3 are cheap and easily accessible, but if you found it on MP3 some one else dug for it first, and everyone else can download it just as easy as you did, so much for originallity huh?.....

My personal opinion.....Digging for MP3s is just as bad as sampling drum sounds off hip hop songs. plus you cant scratch MP3s. but if you want to jump on the bandwagon and become a beat maker (just like everyone else who downloaded FL) have fun, but my guess is your heart isnt really in it...

the only reason i use records is beacuse most of the music is not avaliable anymore if could find the same albums on cd or download them then that would be my source for samples, not beacuse vinyl is cool or gangsta.records or actually a pain in the a#% have you ever tried to move with over 1,000 records, my back still hurts

but don't get me wrong i love digging and my records

yo i got way more records than that and i've moved them by myself plenty of times , thats the joy of records and djing is carring your crates and gems next to you,
