Could you give me some tips man? 8) What to look for when looking for more obscure rock?
Funky album art , long haired hippies , afro blacks , and anything with a reference to drugs...hahahaha

I would agree that some of the illest and most obscure music can be found in rock. It's always the biggest section in the record store plus the abundance of wack sh*t there means it's usually less likely that people had the patience to go through the whole stack. Most labels are hit and miss but I still catch cool records I hadnt seen, even on more known labels like Uni, Vertigo and Kapp.

Yeah I'm a fan of the groovy pychadelic rock not really the head baner stuff. I got some stuff but I don't remember the artists names just off hand.

Check out Focus they have some nice sonic beds of filling noise and nice sweeping guitar pad sounds , Goblin are awsome really nice drum work. Tandgerine Dream are real cool too. Theres a few to get ya started. What kind of sounds are ya lookin for? If your looking for loops to put a kik n snare to it's pretty easy to find because most rock is 4/4. Just depends on the style your lookin to flip.

Well i like psyc rock too... and as one guy said, anything with a reference to drugs... great discription.

But! if you want real heavy metal, a band called Dimmu Borgir are cool. Not for kids though, this shit is hard as hell.
