Okay so I had the help of a friend tonight. We counted 10 crates and a few produce boxes full of records.
Earlier I posted…
81,791-12”s
230-10”s
877-7”s
82,898 = @ Home so far
@ work we counted…
2,203-12”s
102-10”s
219-7”s
Grand total is 85,422 records.

yeah you should, except they won't fit in that vw bug you got
then again with that good gas mileage you could probably make a few trips up north.
oh yeah I got about 2500 - 3000, looking to add a zero on that in the future.

Daaaaamn devmode? More like beast mode!!!
That's madness, do you have a record shop or something?
I couldnt even imagine what 80k+ records would look like....I always though e.d.e had the biggest archive of records, but damn you may just give him a run for his money...either way both of you have beastly collections...
maybe one day...maybe one day...lol

I started using my lunch money and allowance to buy vinyl in the early 80's. It’s evolved into an obsessive compulsive disorder. Haha. I don’t save money ever. If I travel for work, whatever money I get goes towards records usually. I mean I would much rather buy records than pay rent….but then I’d have no where to store them.
Naw but on the real though, I have 12 aunts and uncles who all had vinyl collections. I was able to get their collections, my dads collection was pretty big itself, as well as some of my moms closest friends…going to garage sales most Sundays added at least 5k to my collection alone, and I generally drop 200 whenever I go diggin...I mean unless I don’t have time to dig.
I’ve got friends who had records stores too that they closed down (digital music killed them and all you fu*king pirating bastards haha). They used to just tell me to grab as much as I could carry.
Last I dig every other day. I mean it’s not ALL I do, I just love collecting them. I gotta eat too.
Girlfriend sweats me too but that’s nothing I can’t handle. Records came before she did.
I live simply (means small house in a not so great area), and I play hard (buying whatever the he11 I want).

I've still got my Kenwood KD-1033 with the brush at the tip of the stylus so it cleans the record as it plays!

Hey it happens! Feed your addiction not yourself!

I am in the process of making this shithole house look nice. I am making custom oak record cabinets so I can store them and they won't fall all over the place if there's an earthquake.

DON'T!

I think most of us in this particular section have got that disease, just some of us aint as 'addicted' as you 2
Only been properly collecting for about 10 years or so meself, but I've been pretty lucky since the early days with the flea market I used to frequent (going back next week), some dude had mad soul and funk albums( Funkadelic, Bootsy Isaac 'Black Moses' etc.) and I've not really looked back since.
Sure I've bought some crap over the years(pre portable days) butwho hasn't?
Peace
