Digging is about finding unknown dope breaks.. not sh!t thats already known, thats called record shoppin.. theres a diff between the 2

So what u gonna learn from mp3's and utube.. then u gonna go and buy the records everyones already got and used 100 times over..

So how u gonna learn about the unknown sh!t like us diggers do.. the sh!t that diggins about... oh wait a min ur not going to.

Have u not noticed this floor in ur "method"? or u too busy justifyin ur bullsh!t u not realized???

One of the points of diggin is to stay ahead of the rest, to have and use the breaks peeps dont have.. to make peeps like "ohh where he get that?" not to make peeps like "ohh thats such and such the 50th flip i heard this year" which is the case with all these "net diggers"...

U really dont realize how played out that shit is and how many people its circilated wether its around peeps on or off the net, but then u dont actually dig so I wouldnt expect u to realize.

Total bullsh!t bro.

U aint gonna learn what to dig for unless u DIG, coz diggin aint all about common jazz soul and funk records everyones got.. it spans through many more genres and much more sh!t down to some real unexpected sh!t, but I wouldnt expect u to understand that as ur previous posts show u have no clue

And people can hear the diff between mp3 and records.. if u cant hear that then maybe ur in the wrong thing.. play ur sh!t next to a propa track, garenteed u'll hear the difference

Lets here some beats

hahaha.. read properly..

Most of the previous post was directed at shaman, the only part in anyway directed at u was about the whole "leanin what to dig for from what others have dug etc".. and it wasnt directed "at u" it was a follow up to the post, why u take it so personal? lol

Man the more people who sample from "utube videos" and sh!t like that the more the same sh!t gets regergitated, theres too much of the same sh!t and sh!t that doesnt cut it as it is... not much originality left and gettin harder to find the original and good sh!t due to the net (and street) gettin flooded with so much of the same sh!t... plus by the sounds of things there doesnt seem to be many people who can flip the same breaks as good as showbiz, premo, alchemist, hi tek, pete rock, and anyone else u wanna list here... so wouldnt u rather hear an unheard break fliped then the same well known 100 times sh!t flipped by a so so begineer beat maker on the net? coz theres 10,000 of them to every 1 good beat maker

As for beats, guess u could check the link in the sig, I use page for networkin so its basic sequences waitin for some one to step up, gonna put some more sh!t up a lil later, or u could go buy my EP, u could check the reviews / interviews if u want some other opinions to weigh up along with urs as well.. as i sense u have the "pack mentality" in u lol..

Chill bro, nice beats by the way

ahh the age old rules of break finding (term used way before diggin) and what you should/shouldn't sample and in what format............

oh wait!!! just realised!!!!

There aint none................ Enjoy

Complex is a great example of how to play with new stuff so go check his myspace, just don't forget that the old beats still make it happen when you want it to

To cOmplex- exactly what you're name implies because you're sooo absorbed to the "ethics" of this shit, that you're thinking too hard on making music. gimme a break dog... well, nevermind.

UNDERSTAND THIS!!!
youtube is an alternative to crate diggin... if you use it right!

some of us don't have access to a million & one records like some of you guys. some of you guys may have all the records in the world, but don't know how to put some D's on a sample sitting under your nose!
and as i said once before if you didn't read. I DIG! I KNOW AND UNDERSTAND WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT...WHY WOULD I **** THE SAME WHORE THAT EVERYONE ELSE HAS? WHY WOULD I USE SOME SHIT THAT THREE SIX, KANYE, JUST BLAZE HAS USED ALREADY?!! YOU'VE GOT THE GALL! these albums on youtube are for edu-tainment purposes. i'm learning about where all my favorite songs ORIGINATED. u think that after 20+ years of listening to JUST HIP HOP, i would know what & what not to sample/use?!!! i don't know about you, but i'm not trying to waste my $$ diggin for dirt. you need to be a scholar in one of these hip hop colleges or something...(please).
IF I HEAR A SAMPLE THAT HAS NOT BEEN USED, I"M FLIPPING THE **** RIGHT THEN & THERE. AND IF I LIKE IT ENOUGH, I'LL BUY IT. i'll let you jack off too it wishing you would've done it earlier....
be easy pimpin & stop reading those books.
(psst. some people).
p.s.
btw, "MAKING BEATS- the art of sample based Hip Hop" by joseph schloss is a good read. do you have it by any chance? let me guess, it's was on your desk when you replied to my thread... go figure.

Right i was gonna come back and correct my meaning a lil... because I didnt really express the point 100% like i intended too.. was quite stoned at the time and comin with tunnel vision...

Theres nuttin wrong with never samplin mp3s i aint sayin that.. i sampled from mp3's.. cd's... but I much prefer to dig and hold that very important...

Although let me point out...

the shaman wrote:UNDERSTAND THIS!!!

See this is where u have it wrong... this is what im tryin to speak on... you tube is no "alternative" to crate diggin...

This is what i was tryin to say originally.. i mean u do u, sample from whatever... but to say one thing is an alternative to another is bullsh!t.

People who dig dont put the vids up for u to sample them, and i bet if u told those vid makes u been samplin from theyre vid theyd tell u thats wack.

Anyway back to the point, samplin breaks OTHER PEOPLE HAVE DUG FOR isnt an alternative to diggin... thats total bullsh!t, see i think i went too off topic in my last rant to really stress that was the point I was meaning to explain... right back to ur silly justifications...

the shaman wrote:

What u talkin about?? theres record stores all over the world... thrift stores.. people givin away records, whatever... and u tryin to say some of us dont have access... EVERYONE DOES.

Go to the stores... go get dusty.. spend some money.. blag some free records, put the work in... that was a f**kin silly statement to make and it holds no ground..

the shaman wrote:as i said once before if you didn't read. I DIG! I KNOW AND UNDERSTAND WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT...WHY WOULD I **** THE SAME WHORE THAT EVERYONE ELSE HAS? Its one thing learnin,.. i learnt from all diff places / people.. but learning off a certain method is one thing.. diff to what we talkin about...

Waste ur $$ diggin for dirt?? thats what everyone does at some point.. otherwise if ur only "diggin" for what u been told to.. records u read about etc etc thats not "diggin", thats record shoppin off of some one elses diggin... wait till u get into it a lil more u'll start understandin this sh!t properly... how u gonna discover unknown sh!t unless u take chances?? thats what its about, Its all good knowin and learnin about certain artists, who they played with.. etc etc but that will only get u so far...

I used to be in ur possition once, makin the same kinda arguments u are, then I got into sh!t properly, developed diggin skills.. started findin sh!t i was real proud of discoverin and started seein sh!t properly, I wouldnt expect u to understand at present time because ur not in the right place to understand.. but that doesnt mean u can come with such silly justifications

Nah never heard of that book.. and i go by personal experience, u have only experienced one side bein the toy u are..

And its not the "ethics" shit im on, as i said i sampled from diff sources not just breaks..

I was talkin on the whole "you tube alternative to diggin" is bullsh!t.. there isnt an "alternative" and to take that approach ur just holdin urself back.

I guess i should have worded my previous posts better, but still...

Dont step to me the way u are talkin about u'll flip this and i'll be like that or whatever... coz trust u dont have the skills to back that sh!t up when steppin to me i garentee u

U got quite alot wrong here.. especially concernin u "savin ur $$"... what type of sh!t is that anyway? and the whole "diggin for what others are more or less tellin u to".. how u gonna develope ur own diggin skills / style... coz that sh!t will go into ur actual production style just as much as the production techniques u learn, but then I wouldnt expect a toy to understand that at this stage.. i was at ur stage once... give it a few years then u'll understand..

Peace

whatever man... i'm not gonna get all bent outta shape on a thread. i'll let you do that. so... in essence, i'll do me, you do you. i'll let you work your nerves on others peoples way of doing things & i'll keep doing what i'm doing. peace.
btw,
heard your stuff. i'm not that impressed. but soon enough, i'll be sure to post some of my stuff to shit on yours. be easy greasy.

im so damn sick of people limiting themselves because its not "real hip hop"

Music is about evolution. it ALWAYS has been and it ALWAYS will be. why would you ever limit yourself from producing music that sounds right to you, and moves you in the way you would like to be moved?

I thought you guys of all people would know that hip hop is about using what you have, to make something new. When hip hop first started, sampling from records and tapes was big because it was still a modern type of media.

They didnt have the amazing opportunities that we have today. It would almost be a disgrace to those of hip hop past to NOT utilize everything we possibly can.

If you think digging on youtube is a shame, then i want all of you to stop using any DAW that wasnt around in the 80's-early 90's.

NO using fruity loops, cubase, garageband, and protools was barely there to.

Also, you cant possibly be using the mpc1000!. That has a USB connection in the back! Not the 500 either.

Hell. If you dont get down on a mpc3000, 60, or 2000 you are NOT hip hop.

Its bullshit. DO NOT LIMIT YOURSELF TO MAKING MUSIC. hell, ive even sampled drum breaks off of KFC chicken commercials.

now lets stop giving such a **** about the "hip hop image" and make some damn music..

-my 2 cents.
