i second that.. did he jusst start diigin, or what i have a gang load of herb albert

That's what I was figuring as well... Cause there was a lot of sh*t I thought was wack when I started diggin cause I didn't have the vision to see how to get it to be tight...

Hold on to that stuff man... Herb Alpert has some golden loops...

I am far from a rookie on sampling, I just hate TJ brass...If they were worth something there wouldn't be so many of them in bargain bin. Maybe you are just more of a hip hop head then me? maybe you only dig the tj brass just because the wu took it back in the day?

no thats not it!!! i appreicate the music, i dont even listen to todays music, thats all i do is listen to my records and the records i digg for.

and i would say that i'm not much of a hiphop head,

i live the culture.
i enjoy some of the music; and yes most of what i produce is hiphop, but thats only cuz i'm stilling learning this hole music thing,

i didnt say you were a rookie at sampling ,
i said you may be a rookie at D.I.T.C
but if you don't like tj brass then don't buy it and put down the artist if you dont like his music.
the reason there are so many of his albums in the dollar bins is thats probablly because alot of people liked his music, and once cd's came out,T.T.'s and records went out in these peoples homes as well
herb albert is very talented and so are the people he played with.

that's ridiculous. i've sampled herb alpert and tj brass on numerous occasions (just recently on some work i did for a theater production, as a matter of fact). furthermore, "whipped cream and other delights" has the most awesome picture ever used for an album cover.

Stay away from Chris Spheeris.Infinite Arkatekz sampled him a lot in Raekwon's Immobilarity (3-4 loops as far as i remember) and in QB'S Finest (one loop taken).

I really chop up my work and pitch it and only take chords if I need to so people can't find out where I sampled from then I build around the sampled chops with other insturments. No one still hasn't found out where I sample my shit from unless I play the sample before the beat starts.

Herb Alpert is the man - he's been involved with some dope ish, but if I see another Tijuana Brass record I'll ****in' vomit - they're everywhere you seem to go !!

Funny co-incidence - I picked up one album that he was involved with the other day, was really digging it at home, a few tracks on it had been looped by various people, including that early Bored Stiff ep - one of the best eps ever released !! That night I was watching this beastie boys DVD that I also scored that day (10 bucks at a record fair) and in one of the film clips there's one of them (maybe Ad-rock I think) there holding up the record to the camera and pointing at it and smiling like "this is the shit!!"
