What's the best place in the worls for diggin?

well i've been all over the US diggin' and i still have say Indianapolis 'still' has some of the illest/cheapest records. whether your into funk, soul, jazz, rock (kraut, classic, prog, psych) it's all here. DJ Shadow, Egon (wax poetics), ?uest love, Q-tip...the list of heavy hitters that've come through tryin' to pull up gems goes on and on. seattle also has really incredible spots. i didn't find as much afrocentric/soul music but for avant-garde and hard to finds it's definitely worth hittin' up.

of course i'm a bit biased to where i live, but i've lived 'all' over the US and again i'm still amazed at the heat burried in this city.

chi-towns cool but don't expect to walk away with heaters unless you got monies.

agreed. live in nyc. a lot of the "second hand" record stores are WAY TOO overpriced. don't know how they stay open. who the hell pays that kind of money for those records? and the places ie. thrift stores have been picked over too much. side note- lived in chicago for a year and gramaphone is certifiably the worst record store ever. there are some other cool spots right around gramaphone that are a lot cheaper and good for diggin.

?uest love's diggin' skills are a bit questionable, but the others obviously know their ish.... How many spots you have out there? I've only dug in the state once, and it was in some town near Ohio. I got some heat out of there, but that was back in '98. I've considered hitting indianapolis but I've always heard it's shit.... Are the spots in the city or the burbs? Are they easy to find or someone's basement?

The people making all the beats...lol. dropping $200 is easy if you know you're getting 10g's for a beat made off it. Last time I was in NY I dropped $500 in Sound Library in half an hour... It was well worth it. Obviously I'd like the ish cheaper...but when you need a heater fast go there. In terms of guessing and shit...ya...NY sucks

When it comes to diggin u cant limit your self to down the street. different areas mean different sounds. And I mean in terms of countries I live in the UK where we have access to every type of music, which means we get everytype of music so diggin here is like WOW! especially Japan thats another place to dig! Plan a vacation to a English speaking country or a place that really appreciates music and also produces great music it self and see what u find.

BTW I never shopping in NYC again for breaks unless I have too, I bought a Album to get this break by the Duke for like $20!!! only cause I needed it bad, but If I had got it at home it would have cost me 50p! or FREE!

TOKYO JAPAN!

texas (DFW/ austin) and colorado (denver/ boulder) have some of the best digging spots in the US, there was real nice selection and reasonable prices in both cities

I'm with actuel Indy is dope , Ohio too they had a big funk seen lot's of unknown heat!

you know it real depends on what your lookin for , NYC has alot of US type music and other stuff but you can goall around the world a find many things it just depends on what you want .
