They shouldn't have sampled "Georgia On My Mind" by Ray Charles. Ludacris and Field Mob ruined that song/sample.

Actually concerning the JLO sh*t , that is extremely wack of her .Not because she sampled the same loop but because she looped it straight off of their record!!! THAT is wak!
But at the same time I guess if your gonna jack someone you better jack tha Beatnust because they 're some of the best diggers in HIp Hop,.
And U also have to consider the fact that most R&B hits from the 90's were made the same way meaning that producers would jack samples that had been used by hip hop artists and just add some little twist here or there. (i.e. : Mary J. Blige's whole discography is based on jacking hip hop beats like Hot sex, Zulu war chant, top billin, T.R.O.Y.,etc...)

When I'm finished working with a sample, its so processed that it's basically unrecognizable (most of the time). I usually never takes loops when i sample.

I use my samples as building blocks, so I'll take piano chords from a song and filter them, repitch them, and rearrange them.

I took the kick from funky drummer, but i feel like since i didn't just loop it, then it's fine.

With the way that I personally work with samples, i never rule anything out, because it all ends up as stabs and bits and pieces usually.

this is a funny statement to me. I dont beleive as a sampling producer that your making ANY song you sample a "better song". It maybe different or more to your liking but turning a whole song to a few 4 or 8 bar loops is not doing it justice..IMHO.

Some of the shht i love the most is when an artist breaks the "rules" of what not to sample and flips it. Esp already well known tracks and flips it differently.

and on a side not..I like that Sean Kingston Track. I thought it was a great pop record.
