whats going on with my turntable

man i have a a tech 1210 mk2 and every time i play a record it sound weird as hell
like singers voice sound **** up and string part sound terrible

i know it not the needle because i brought a new one

and its not the record i. i try the sample record on my mom's turntable

Both 1210s are doing this or just one?

Could be a number of things, possibly a bad motor -- hopefully something less serious. Take it to be serviced. Did you ever perchance run them with the platter off? That would be an issue . .

Also, 1210s have voltage selectors under the platter. That should be set correctly, and if you plugged it into a 220 outlet and it's on 120v, well - it's screwed.

i made a typo i have just one 1210,but where could i take the table to be service in the new york area , the closer to the bronx the better

Man I left NY like 7yrs ago, but in downtown Brooklyn on Fulton St.(where the Albee Sq. Mall is at) there were mad record shops and dj providers on that whole block. Check them out they'll fix it dirt cheap but you gotta shop around for the real cats. Take the train to Pacific St. and walk from there.

I would do a Google search for Panasonic service centers (Technics is Panasonic under another name).

i might try that out , but i hope it does not cost to much or i might as well buy a new table
