^ What he said. People don't want records. They can be had for free. They are loaded with 'samples'

you could sample from anything dvds, vhs, cassettes, video games, TV, MP3s and basically any sound source. you just have to have the ear for it... Basically you have to get ya feet wet no one is going to give you samples because, if its dope they are most likely going to use it... Not to sound like a dick but you kinda gotta make your own research to find hot samples. its actually the best part of making music. you will thank us once you find that 1 sample that you like and from there on you'll be hooked to digging. Another thing is get some funds because this hobby could get expensive and its hard work but worth it. good luck and stick to it...

they have tons of samples on torrent sites, if ur gonna be cheap, learn to download .....that gimmie gimmie shit is dead ... AKA "Gimmie Got Shot" !

and just for the record , im not talking sample packs like they sell on ebay and shit, i was talkin bout the vintage drum machine and keyboard drum samples

Not to mention asking for someone's samples is typically considered rude (unless you know them well) becuse you are basically asking for their hard work, and their personal sound they have acquired through that work. If you are new to making hip hop and beats you wouldn't know that, but just remember for the future.

if you don't have a record player or records just listen to music on the computer and if you hear something you want to sample, chop it up in audacity (free) and convert it to wav and do your thing on the mpc

dont use samples from sample kits or whatever you're talking about. thats not original at all thats like a rock band choosing riffs that have already been used. sampling IS original and beautiful but not if you get your samples from a pack (that takes most of the work and beauty out of it) and they have probably already been used by 400+ [wack] producers
