You find a really nice e.g. jazz record, you take it home and listen to it and your favourite part of the record that you want to sample (just that part) has more snaps, crackles and pops than a bowl of rice crispies! It isn't a "cut out the pops" job either.

Is this just someone telling me that it wasn't mean't to be sampled? :?

yep. i have a record that has an intro made of gold on the very first track... but there is a chip the size of a dime on the outside, which goes in just enough to **** that one part up. it really does pi55 me off.

Do you not have an audio program to clean it up, and then sample it?

yeah, fair play and that, but these guys are talking about properly ragged records.

Yup. When that happens I definitely take it as a sign. Either you weren't meant to sample that part, OR you were meant to go on a quest to find another copy.

Dear diary, it really bothers me that I can't sample a record because it has come crackling. I think my world will soon crumble underneath this faith the Gods have placed upon me and my sampling future.
