ortofon setup -counterweight

Hey guys i just moved from my shure m447s to some ortofon pro s oms - man heaps better on the top end, much more defined throughout the frequency range..
Anyway, they just don't stick as well as the shures, i was wondering how much grams you guys have got on?
I'm currently set up with 2.5g wondering maybe i need more for the ortofons

Read what range Ortofon suggests and play around with it. Anti-skate should be at 0. You might have to break them in a little too.

Been using the Concordes since the mid 90's.

At some point I'm going to post a comparison between my elliptical Ortofon Arkiv and my M44-7 on a slightly worn 45. When you stick the Arkiv on there's like a 25-50% reduction of surface noise. I keep my Arkiv around for casual listening, but I'm thinking of picking up a Q-Bert Ortofon to replace my M44-7 in the scratch realm.

Ortofon recommends 4g, it just seemed a little heavy.. anyway i'll keep experimenting, maybe its just because im so used to the m447

I'm interested in getting an arkiv too, thats amazing the improvement you noted bedouin!

i happen to like surface noise let's me know i'm listening to anolog,

but thats about what they weigh at 2.5 -3 g are u using it for sctratching or just listening too? i got an old blue one with a broken handle so maybe that takes some weight off,

but i use that for scratching for mixin i use ,well i use track masters myself been using them since the 90'stoo.

DAmn i got a new m44-7 too i still ahve in the package it's never put away for 2years
