Turntable settings

I'm sampling only, no scratching. I have a Shure M44-7 and a Technics 1200. What should my settings (tonearm, anti-skate, etc.) be to get the best quality with this cart?

Shure M44 - 7 & G 1.5 - 3.5 g

For ordinary listening:

-Set it to 1.5g (least amount of wear)
-Adjust tonearm height so it's parallel to the record (really, look and make sure the bottom of the cart itself is parallel along with the arm. On the M44-7s this is very low, if not zero.
-Set anti-skate to 1.5 or corresponding to your tracking force.
-Make sure it's actually aligned properly on the headshell. The protractor that comes with the 1200 is okay, but not great. You might want to print one out or buy one.

For listening/sampling though, the M44-7 really isn't that amazing.

I know, but I'm just trying to get the best out of what I have. Were those the best settings because ordinary doesn't sound best haha.

Back in the days I use to glue nickels or pennies on the stylus to keep the needle from skipping when scratchin'. Now I just sample off them so I keep the needle lightly on the record.

Hey guys,
I thought the M44-7 is great for scratching and it is, but i also thought it is a good needle for sampling.
I dind't buy it yet, but i like to know which needle is great for sampling?
