WHEN is it okay to resort to digital digging?

Alright, before you crate diggers behead me..understand that I dig too. All I sample into my MPC is straight from wax. We all know analog warmth is so much more better than cold 01010's.

With that being said..I've come to a question.

When is it okay to resort to digital digging? When do you draw the line? Do you draw a line?

I've heard alot of talented cats flip video game joints that can't be found on wax (well, they can..but it's rare that you find volumes of wax dedicated to videogame joints). I'm considering getting ahold of a few heads I know who've got a plethora of originals from NES, Sega, etc (holler at me if you want in).

I wanna hear more from the digger's point of view. 1.

im a viniyl junkie i dont do it often and prolly never done thats how often i do it, but when you cant find it on vinyl or casette cd is last resort for me.
i dont usually take music parts , just sound bites.

but yeah theres no limits i just prefur vinyl can't get away from it

Na man, I mean I personally prefer vinyl over a file any day of the week and I usually go above and beyond to track down a record that I been looking for but sometimes theres hot sh*t on a CD that just needs to get snagged

use whatever motivates you but know obviuosly sound quality will suffer.

its only ok when dilla tells you it is...

im hittin up the net for joints when im dead broke, when im not its straight vinyl

I said it before and ill say it again, if my fart sounds good I would sample it.

IMO this is true...

However, try to stay with the best quality digital recordings u can find... You use a crappy mp3, it will sound crappy.

When I sample from cds, I mix in a sample of vinyl record playing a blank passage (during the quiet passages on vinyl, sample that).. When you add that on top, whammo vinyl sound, digital sample. Granted, we can argue all day about the dynamics of vinyl, and analogue vs. digital, but 99 percent of the listeners out there would not be able to tell the difference.
